Val

My name is Val and I lead the Practical Support group. This is a group within the church of willing helpers with different skills. Anyone in the community can ring me with a need, and I will put them in touch with someone who will help. They do it out of love for their "neighbours". This could be for babysitting, furniture removals, or for electrical repairs.

I believe we can demonstrate our love through the giving of our time.

During the week I work in a health centre. I pray for the 'fruits of the spirit' so that I can be like Jesus to the doctors and patients. I feel Jesus is alongside me helping with the workload, with problems of personality, and any difficulty.

A list of the 'fruits of the spirit', e.g. love, patience, kindness can be found in the Bible at Galatians chapter 5, verses 22 and 23.
