'Songsters' is the name given to the choir in the Salvation Army.

The Songsters is the name given to the choir in a Salvation Army Citadel. The Songsters' leader is Juliet. The Songsters help the worship in the church.

Music is a really important part of the Salvation Army. The songs they sing encourage people in their Christian faith, and help them when they are finding things difficult. Sometimes, God speaks to people through the words the Songsters sing. As a group, the Songsters help each other, perhaps when people are ill, or are feeling sad.

They sing every week at the morning and evening meeting, and sometimes they sing at special concerts or festivals and at other churches. Christmas is a very busy time singing at old people's homes and Women's Institutes.

Here are some words the Songsters sang during a service:

'What a difference it made

when the Lord came,

and stayed in my heart.

Oh yes, I've been changed.'
