The Salvation Army use a brass band because, many years ago, it was a good way of getting people to go to the services. Brass instruments are also very good for open air services; they are easy to carry about and don't need electricity to work! Mike conducts the band and organises places for them to play after the service, such as at old people's homes, or at someone's home if they are ill. They use the minibus to get there. This means that the citadel empties quite quickly after a service. |
