Nick, a teenager, plays in the youth band

My name is Nick and I am 15 years old. I go to the 13+ group, which happens after the meeting every Sunday. I also get together with friends from the Citadel during the week, and go to Megazone, or bowling, or just go round someone's house and talk. I play in the youth band, and we sometimes go away together to music school, meet up with other Salvationists from other corps, and we practise, learn, pray together, and have fun as a group.

I've always been brought up in the army, but I wouldn't have called myself a Christian until about four years ago, when I went away to a music school. It was a turning point for me, and I became a Christian. I wanted to be more like the Christians I met there. About 100 of us all prayed in a big group to become Christians. It's easy to become a Christian, but the Christian life can be hard. You can be asked to do things which you know are wrong, and I have to say no.

I pray and try to read my Bible every day, although it can be hard to find time as it's my GCSE year. The 13+ group gives us a worksheet every week to help us learn more about the Bible while we are at home.
