The offering plate is passed along the rows in the citadel.

Every Sunday, an offering is taken at the citadel. Wooden plates, as can be seen below, are passed around the church into which Salvationists can place money if they wish. This money is then used to help pay for the running of the citadel (e.g. electricity bills, heating, repairs), and to help people in the community, such as the soup run, or at Lyndon House.

 
When the offering has been collected, the plates are placed on the front table, and a prayer is said of thanks to God for his gifts of money.
The plates are placed next to the open Bible and flowers on the front table.
