Beverley leads the Mothers' Union.

My name is Beverley and I am leader of the Comb's Mothers' Union. The Mothers' Union is a Christian organisation to help families world-wide. We have a monthly meeting. We're one of the youngest Mothers' Unions in the country. We started only a year ago, following a discussion at an Alpha course.

At our meetings we say the Mothers' Union prayer and we listen to a speaker. Next week, Jan is talking to us about being a female vicar.

Sometimes, people only think about themselves. Mothers' Union meetings tell us more about what is going on all round the world and we find out how to help people in need.

I haven't been a Christian for long. I found the church very friendly. When I first came, my mother was poorly and the Christians here helped me. Then I went to Alpha and I found out what being a Christian was all about. Being a Christian gives me peace, and helps me to look at life differently.

Everyone at the Mothers' Union.
