The book case contains hymnbooks, bibles and orders of service.
As you enter the church for a service, you are handed books that are needed. These could be hymn books with words to the songs, or service books, which have the words to different prayers, responses and creeds which are used in the services.

One of the most famous prayers in the service book is the Lord's Prayer, which begins,

"Our Father in Heaven, Holy is your name."

A response is when the leader says words, perhaps from the bible, and the congregation (the people who are at the church service) reply, reading words from the service book. An example of this would be after a Bible reading when the reader says, "This is the Word of the Lord," and the people respond, "Thanks be to God."

A Creed is a list of beliefs that Christians say together. One starts,

"I believe in one God, the Father Almighty,

Maker of Heaven and Earth."
