When she can, Rachel plays violin in the worship group.

My name is Rachel, and I am working in Romania for an organisation called CRY (Care and Relief for the Young). For the first three months I worked in a children's home in Bucharest, and for the last few months working with children in a church in Brasov.

When I go back I'm going to be working with children who live on the street. We will give them food, and build up friendships. CRY hope to buy a building to give them hot food, wash their clothes and bath them.

I went to Romania to do voluntary work. It seemed to be the right time in my life, especially as my job and my rented house were coming to an end. At a Christian holiday, I heard the story of Abraham, and how he left his father's home and country to go to a new place that God had called him to. God told me clearly that He wanted me to go to a new country too. I knew I had to listen to God and do what he wanted.

I've found it quite tough, especially having to learn a new language, but I know God will never leave me. It has helped me to know I have friends in England who have been praying for me.

Rachel worked in a children's home in Romania.
